About American Winds

American Winds is passionate about aviation. It prides itself on personalized flight training and our state-of-the-art air charter service.  American Winds Flight Academy (AWFA) is one of only two FAA (Certified 141) flight schools in Northeast Ohio but that's not what sets us apart from other flight schools. We can provide you with an affordable, flexible and convenient means of fulfilling your personal aviation goals.  At American Winds our mission is to make your flying experience outstanding each and every time.

American Winds is the realized dream of President Mike Kolomichuk and Chief Flight Instructor, Denise Hobart. In January 2002, they opened their doors and a few months later received certification, making them the only FAA-licensed flight school in Akron, Ohio.

It thrives on success of our flight students and the satisfaction of its private charter clients. American Winds is committed to an unmatched standard of excellence and is dedicated to keeping aviation a safe, well-respected profession. AWFA employs fresh minds to instruct students and pass on their knowledge of aviation.
